To advance to the championship game, Northern Ontario's Tanner Horgan won 6-1 over Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) in the semifinals of the 2017 CookstownCash presented by Comco Canada Inc in Cookstown, Ontario, Canada; and won 7-6 over Ontario's Ian Dickie in the quarterfinals.

In their opening game, Northern Ontario's Tanner Horgan lost 6-5 to Ontario's Brent Ross, then responded with a 6-0 win over Ontario's Mike McLean.
