Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) finished 2-2 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brewster lost 6-4 to Yves Hess (Zug, SUI), then responded with a 8-5 win over Kristian Lindstroem (Lit, SWE). Brewster went on to lose 6-4 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA). Brewster responded with a 7-3 win over Jiri Snitil (Prague, CZE) in their final qualifying round match.

Brewster earned 1.362 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 42nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 0.602 after improving upon their best so far this season. Brewster ranks 47th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 80.376 points earned so far this season.
