Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR) qualified for the 2018 German Masters playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-7 against Alexander Baumann (Baden-Baden, GER). of the 2018 German Masters in Hamburg, Germany;

Walstad finished 3-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walstad defeated Christian Bangerter (Bern, SUI) 5-4, then won 8-2 against Bjorn Jungen (Adelboden, SUI). Walstad went on to lose 5-1 against Greg Drummond (Stirling, SCO). Walstad responded with a 6-1 win over Andrin Schnider (St. Gallen, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
