Hess finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hess defeated Jiri Candra (Prague, CZE) 8-6, then won 7-5 against Cameron Bryce (Stirling, SCO) and 7-3 against Andrin Schnider (St. Gallen, SUI). Hess went on to lose 7-6 against Bjorn Jungen (Adelboden, SUI). Hess lost 5-3 to Graham Sloan (Dumfries, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Dumfries Challenger Series, Hess take home 12.365 world rankings points along with the $3,452CDN prize, moving up 97 spots the World Ranking Standings into 189th place overall with 20.175 total points. Hess ranks 136th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 16.530 points earned so far this season.
