To advance to the championship game, Lewis won 4-3 over Mario Deschatelets (Buckingham, QC) in the semifinals of the 2017 Challenge de Curling de Gatineau Open in Buckingham, Quebec; and won 7-6 over Maxime Dufresne (Montreal, QC) in the quarterfinals.
Lewis finished 3-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lewis defeated Guy Charette (Buckingham, QC) 6-2, then won 7-3 against Martin Patry (Buckingham, QC) and 5-4 against Ted Butler (Buckingham, QC) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Challenge de Curling de Gatineau Open, Lewis take home 11.559 world rankings points along with the $1,600CDN prize, moving up 67 spots the World Ranking Standings into 144th place overall with 22.269 total points. Lewis ranks 97th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 12.070 points earned so far this season.
