Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) won 8-2 over Glenn Howard (Islington, ON) in the Final of the Humpty's Champions Cup, held April 24 - 29, 2018 in Calgary, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Gushue won 7-5 over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2018 Humpty's Champions Cup in Calgary, Alberta; and won 4-2 over Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals.
Gushue finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Tyler Tardi (Langley, BC) 8-3, then won 5-4 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON) and 7-2 against Rich Ruohonen (Seattle, WA). Gushue won 7-3 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Humpty's Champions Cup Championship title, Gushue earned 72.953 world rankings points along with the $40,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 38 of the event schedule, Gushue did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Gushue ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
