John Morris (Vernon, BC) finished 3-3 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morris defeated Jamie Murphy (Halifax, NS) 9-3, then won 7-2 against Mark Bice (Sarnia, ON). Morris went on to lose 8-7 against Colton Flasch (Saskatoon, SK). Morris lost 9-8 to Adam Casey (Regina, SK) where Morris responded with a 8-4 win over Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB). Morris went on to lose 4-3 against Glenn Howard (Islington, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Home Hardware Road to the Roar Pre-Trials Championship title, Morris earned 39.712 world rankings points, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 11th place overall with 359.303 total points. Morris ranks 23rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 87.462 points earned so far this season.
