After advancing directly to the championship game, Chelsea Carey (Calgary, AB) lost 6-5 to Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) in the Final of the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, held December 2 - 10, 2017 in Ottawa, Ontario.

Carey finished 8-0 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey defeated Homan 8-4, then won 7-4 against Val Sweeting (Edmonton, AB) and 8-7 against Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB). Carey won 9-3 against Allison Flaxey (Caledon, ON), then won 7-5 against Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) and 9-8 against Julie Tippin (Woodstock, ON). Carey won 5-2 against Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, NONT), then won 10-3 against Michelle Englot (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, Carey take home 64.882 world rankings points, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 8th place overall with 432.690 total points. Carey ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 276.041 points earned so far this season.
