Liu finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Liu defeated Colton Flasch (Saskatoon, SK) 7-1, then went on to lose 7-5 against Greg Balsdon (Kingston, ON). Liu responded with a 5-2 win over Carl deConinck Smith (Rosetown, SK). Liu won 7-6 against Dayna Deruelle (Kingston, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
Liu earned 19.937 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2, remaining in 23rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 172.552 total points. Liu ranks 12th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 40.019 points earned so far this season.
