Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) run at the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 came to an end in the semifinals with a 7-6 loss to William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB). of the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Regina, Saskatchewan; Bottcher advanced through the quarterfinals with a 8-4 win over Greg Balsdon (Kingston, ON).
 
Bottcher finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bottcher defeated Jason Ackerman (Regina, SK) 11-1, then won 7-5 against Josh Heidt (Saskatoon, SK) and 9-3 against Adam Casey (Regina, SK). Bottcher won 5-4 against Charley Thomas (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
