Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON) run at the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 came to an end in the semifinals with a 5-2 loss to Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). of the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 in Regina, Saskatchewan; Jacobs advanced through the quarterfinals with a 10-8 win over John Shuster (Duluth, USA). of the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 in Regina, Saskatchewan;

Jacobs went on to lose 7-5 against Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.
