Melvin Shaw (Potomac, MD) run at the 2017 GNCC Mixed Championship came to an end in the semifinals with a 6-3 loss to Caitlin Maroldo (Rochester, NY). of the 2017 GNCC Mixed Championship in Warminster, Pennsylvania;
 
Shaw finished 5-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shaw defeated Michael Glessner (Philadephia, PA) 11-1, then won 11-2 against Christopher Gray (Warminster, PA) and 10-1 against Nicole Prohaska (Plainfield, NJ). Shaw won 11-2 against Monica Lynn (Warminster, PA), then won 6-4 against Robert Melville (Wayland, MA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week of the event schedule, Shaw did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Shaw ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
