In their opening game, Scimia defeated Murray Jackson (Durham, NC) 7-3, then went on to lose 10-2 against Emily Anderson (Philadelphia, PA). Scimia responded with a 6-5 win over Paul Schultz (Burlington, VT). Scimia went on to lose 6-4 against Caitlin Maroldo (Rochester, NY) in their final qualifying round match.
