Binia Feltscher (Flims, SUI) lost 7-6 to Alina Paetz (Zurich, SUI) in the Final of the Swiss Curling Championship, held February 11 - 18, 2017 in Flims, Switzerland.
Feltscher finished 8-2 in the 6-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Feltscher defeated Lisa Gisler (Bern, SUI) 7-1, then went on to lose 8-7 against Paetz. Feltscher responded with a 9-1 win over Ursi Hegner (Uzwil, SUI). Feltscher won 7-5 against Silvana Tirinzoni (Zurich, SUI), then won 8-6 against Elena Stern (Wetzikon, SUI) and 6-4 against Gisler. Feltscher won 9-4 against Tirinzoni, then won 8-5 against Hegner and 10-2 against Stern. Feltscher went on to lose 6-4 against Paetz in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Swiss Curling Championship, Feltscher take home 22.259 world rankings points. Feltscher move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 20.405 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 16th overall with 366.186 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Feltscher ranks 25th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 150.318 points earned so far this season.
