Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) lost 7-5 to Chiaki Matsumura (Karuizawa, JPN) in the Final of the Japan Curling Championships, held January 30 - February 5, 2017 in Karuizawa, Japan.

Fujisawa finished 8-0 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fujisawa defeated Azusa Arakawa (Hokkaido, JPN) 14-3, then won 10-3 against Natsuki Saito (Aomori, JPN) and 8-3 against Misato Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN). Fujisawa won 7-6 against Mayu Natsuizaka (sapporo, JPN), then won 11-1 against Chiaki Fukui (Hokkaido, JPN) and 5-3 against Matsumura. Fujisawa won 9-7 against Tori Koana (Yamanashi, JPN), then won 7-5 against Ayumi Ogasawara (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Japan Curling Championships, Fujisawa take home 15.675 world rankings points. Fujisawa move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 14.78 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 23rd overall with 258.563 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Fujisawa ranks 34th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 98.011 points earned so far this season.
