Matsumura finished 7-1 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Matsumura defeated Mayu Natsuizaka (sapporo, JPN) 8-2, then won 7-2 against Ayumi Ogasawara (Sapporo, JPN) and 10-5 against Azusa Arakawa (Hokkaido, JPN). Matsumura won 5-4 against Misato Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN), then won 7-6 against Tori Koana (Yamanashi, JPN) and 6-1 against Natsuki Saito (Aomori, JPN). Matsumura went on to lose 5-3 against Fujisawa. Matsumura responded with a 8-2 win over Chiaki Fukui (Hokkaido, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Japan Curling Championships Championship title, Matsumura earned 19.950 world rankings points, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 53rd place overall with 117.229 total points. Matsumura ranks 43rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 87.832 points earned so far this season.
