Alexey Timofeev (Moscow, RUS) finished 3-6 in the 10-team qualifying round. . Timofeev went on to lose 5-4 against Aaron Squires (Kitchener-Waterloo, CAN). Timofeev responded with a 6-5 win over Se Hyeon Seong (Uiseong, KOR). Timofeev went on to lose 11-6 against Gustav Eskilsson (Skelleftea, SWE). Timofeev lost 7-4 to Steffen Walstad (Oslo, NOR). Timofeev lost 7-5 to Alex Leichter (Boston, USA) where Timofeev responded with a 8-1 win over Daniel Alex Kim (Almaty, KAZ). Timofeev went on to lose 8-5 against Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE) in their final qualifying round match.

Timofeev earned 2.662 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 25 of the event schedule, Timofeev did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Timofeev ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
