Squires responded with a 5-4 win over Alexey Timofeev (Moscow, RUS). Squires went on to lose 6-4 against Alex Leichter (Boston, USA). Squires responded with a 6-5 win over Kohsuke Hirata (Kitami, JPN). Squires went on to lose 7-4 against Gustav Eskilsson (Skelleftea, SWE). Squires lost 8-2 to Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE). Squires lost 8-4 to Se Hyeon Seong (Uiseong, KOR) where Squires responded with a 9-5 win over Steffen Walstad (Oslo, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.

Squires earned 3.549 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 86th place overall with 75.715 total points. Squires ranks 328th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.549 points earned so far this season.
