Jamie Murphy (Halifax, NS) won 9-7 over Stuart Thompson (Dartmouth, NS) in the Final Murphy advanced directly to the championship game after finishing first in the preliminary round. of the Nova Scotia Deloitte Tankard, held January 24 - 29, 2017 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Murphy finished 6-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murphy defeated Mike Flemming (Halifax, NS) 9-1, then went on to lose 8-7 against Brent MacDougall (Halfiax, NS). Murphy responded with a 8-1 win over Kendal Thompson (Halifax, NS). Murphy won 8-2 against Thompson, then won 7-4 against Robert Mayhew (Sackville, NS) and 8-3 against Chad Stevens (Halifax, NS). Murphy won 4-3 against Paul Dexter (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Nova Scotia Deloitte Tankard Championship title, Murphy earned 12.600 world rankings points. Murphy move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 11.541 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 37th overall with 196.893 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Murphy ranks 40th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 87.117 points earned so far this season.
