Mary Mattatall (Halifax, NS) won 10-4 over Jill Brothers (Halifax, NS) in the Final Mattatall advanced directly to the championship game after finishing first in the preliminary round. of the Nova Scotia Scotties, held January 24 - 29, 2017 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Mattatall finished 6-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mattatall defeated Theresa Breen (Halifax, NS) 7-4, then won 7-6 against Brothers and 7-5 against Kristen MacDiarmid (Halifax, NS). Mattatall won 8-4 against Christie Gamble (Halifax, NS). Mattatall went on to lose 7-5 against Mary-Anne Arsenault (Dartmouth, NS). Mattatall responded with a 7-6 win over Julie McEvoy (Halifax, NS). Mattatall won 7-4 against Nancy McConnery (Windsor, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Nova Scotia Scotties Championship title, Mattatall earned 13.650 world rankings points, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 68th place overall with 88.661 total points. Mattatall ranks 74th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 46.037 points earned so far this season.
