Briscoe went on to lose 8-7 against Colleen Kilgallen (East St. Paul, MB). Briscoe responded with a 7-6 win over Cheryl Reed (Brandon, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Briscoe earned 3.454 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 73 spots the World Ranking Standings into 216th place overall with 3.844 total points. Briscoe ranks 187th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.454 points earned so far this season.
