Kleiter went on to lose 12-4 against Quebec's Vincent Roberge. Kleiter responded with a 13-2 win over Siksik. Kleiter went on to lose 11-3 against Greg Blyde (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Kleiter earned 1.812 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
