Tyler Smith (Charlottetown, PEI) finished 5-5 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith defeated Quebec's Vincent Roberge 7-5, then went on to lose 8-3 against Liam Marin (Saint John, NB). Smith responded with a 16-2 win over Sawer Kaeser (Fort Smith, NT). Smith won 4-3 against Greg Blyde (St. John's, NL), then won 9-6 against Colton Goller (Calgary, AB). Smith went on to lose 8-4 against JT Ryan (Winnipeg, MB). Smith lost 9-2 to Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS). Smith lost 8-3 to Tanner Horgan (Copper Cliff, NONT). Smith lost 9-3 to Tyler Tardi (Langley, BC) where Smith responded with a 5-4 win over Matthew Hall (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Smith earned 2.265 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week of the event schedule, Smith did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Smith ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
