Tanner Horgan (Copper Cliff, NONT) run at the 2017 Canadian Junior Mens Championship came to an end in the semifinals with a 7-6 loss to Matthew Hall (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON). of the 2017 Canadian Junior Mens Championship in Victoria, British Columbia;
Horgan finished 7-2 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Horgan defeated Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS) 8-4, then went on to lose 7-4 against Hall. Horgan responded with a 7-3 win over Rylan Kleiter (Saskatoon, SK). Horgan won 12-4 against Arthur Siksik (Iqaluit, NU). Horgan went on to lose 5-4 against Tyler Tardi (Langley, BC). Horgan responded with a 7-5 win over JT Ryan (Winnipeg, MB). Horgan won 8-3 against Tyler Smith (Charlottetown, PEI), then won 7-4 against Colton Goller (Calgary, AB) and 6-3 against Liam Marin (Saint John, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
Horgan earned 12.835 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Canadian Junior Mens Championship. For week of the event schedule, Horgan did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Horgan ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
