Krysta Burns (Sudbury, NONT) run at the 2017 Canadian Junior Womens Championship came to an end in the semifinals with a 7-3 loss to Kristen Streifel (Edmonton, AB). of the 2017 Canadian Junior Womens Championship in Victoria, British Columbia;

Burns finished 7-3 in the 14-team qualifying round. . . Burns won 8-5 against Kaitlyn Jones (Regina, SK), then won 9-4 against Streifel and 6-2 against Kristin Clarke (Chester, NS). Burns won 6-4 against Lauren Lenentine (Cornwall, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.

Burns earned 12.978 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Canadian Junior Womens Championship. For week 24 of the event schedule, Burns did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Burns ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
