Rachel Steele (Ajax, ON) run at the 2017 North Durham U18 Womens Invitational came to an end in the semifinals with a 5-4 loss to Mackenzie Kiemele (Niagara Falls, ON).  of the 2017 North Durham U18 Womens Invitational in Port Perry/Uxbridge, Ontario; 
 
Steele finished 3-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Steele defeated Laura Henderson (Bradford, ON) 8-2, then went on to lose 7-2 against Emma Clendenan (Ajax, ON). Steele responded with a 6-4 win over Kenna Bartlett (Seaforth, ON). Steele won 8-1 against Alberta's Chloe Johnston in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week 22 of the event schedule, Steele did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Steele ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
