Derrick McLean (Bothell, WA) finished 2-3 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McLean defeated Bret Jackson (Milford, MI) 9-5, then went on to lose 10-3 against Pete Fenson (Bemidji, MN). McLean responded with a 8-0 win over Darryl Sobering (Denver, CO). McLean went on to lose 11-6 against Hunter Clawson (Laurel, MD). McLean lost 11-4 to Sobering in their final qualifying round match.

McLean earned 0.878 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 11 spots the World Ranking Standings into 392nd place overall with 3.651 total points. McLean ranks 373rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 0.878 points earned so far this season.
