Andrew Stopera (New York, NY) finished 3-3 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stopera defeated Mike Siggins (Phoenix, AZ) 6-4, then went on to lose 5-4 against Stephen Dropkin (Minneapolis, MN). Stopera responded with a 10-0 win over Darryl Horsman (Tempe, AZ). Stopera won 10-1 against Bret Jackson (Milford, MI). Stopera went on to lose 8-1 against Alex Leichter (Boston, MA). Stopera lost 5-4 to Darryl Sobering (Denver, CO) in their final qualifying round match.

Stopera earned 1.318 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 23 spots the World Ranking Standings into 288th place overall with 8.632 total points. Stopera ranks 313th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.493 points earned so far this season.
