Darryl Sobering (Denver, CO) finished 5-2 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sobering lost 8-5 to Tucker Smith (Bismarck, ND), droppimg another game, 8-0 to Derrick McLean (Bothell, WA) where Sobering responded with a 8-2 win over Lionel Locke (St. Louis Park, MN). Sobering won 8-5 against Mike Siggins (Phoenix, AZ), then won 11-4 against McLean and 5-4 against Andrew Stopera (New York, NY). Sobering won 6-4 against Brandon Corbett (Rochester, NY) in their final qualifying round match.

Sobering earned 7.466 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the USA Men's Challenge Round, moving up 35 spots the World Ranking Standings into 193rd place overall with 21.432 total points. Sobering ranks 127th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 20.744 points earned so far this season.
