In their opening game, Clawson defeated Darryl Horsman (Tempe, AZ) 8-1, then went on to lose 8-5 against Alex Leichter (Boston, MA). Clawson responded with a 7-5 win over Mike Siggins (Phoenix, AZ). Clawson won 11-4 against Leichter in their final qualifying round match.

Clawson earned 7.466 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the USA Men's Challenge Round, moving up 14 spots the World Ranking Standings into 114th place overall with 46.578 total points. Clawson ranks 121st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 22.226 points earned so far this season.
