Ryan McCrady (Ottawa, ON) finished 1-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McCrady lost 11-6 to Scott Bailey (Dundas, ON), then responded with a 6-3 win over Richard Krell (Waterloo, ON). McCrady went on to lose 8-7 against Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

McCrady earned 0.722 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, dropping 5 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 82nd place overall with 77.810 total points. McCrady ranks 68th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 49.408 points earned so far this season.
