Shuster won 7-6 against Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN), then won 8-5 against Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER) and 8-2 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN). Shuster won 6-5 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED), then won 7-3 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
