Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI) finished 8-3 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, De Cruz lost 7-5 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN), then responded with a 7-4 win over John Shuster (Duluth, USA). De Cruz won 6-3 against Steffen Walstad (Oslo, NOR), then won 7-4 against Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER) and 9-2 against Alexey Stukalskiy (Moscow, RUS). De Cruz won 6-5 against David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO), then won 9-6 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) and 6-4 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA). De Cruz went on to lose 10-4 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). De Cruz responded with a 6-5 win over Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). De Cruz went on to lose 8-5 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.

De Cruz earned 44.090 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Ford World Men's Curling Championship. De Cruz move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 27.643 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 15th overall with 414.917 total points on the World Ranking Standings. De Cruz ranks 12th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 261.761 points earned so far this season.
