Murdoch responded with a 6-2 win over Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA). Murdoch won 7-1 against Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER), then won 7-6 against Alexey Stukalskiy (Moscow, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.
