Morozumi lost 8-5 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) where Morozumi responded with a 7-4 win over Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER). Morozumi won 9-7 against Steffen Walstad (Oslo, NOR). Morozumi went on to lose 7-6 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA). Morozumi responded with a 12-4 win over Alexey Stukalskiy (Moscow, RUS). Morozumi went on to lose 10-2 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN). Morozumi lost 6-5 to Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI). Morozumi lost 9-2 to Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.

Morozumi earned 12.968 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 34 of the event schedule, Morozumi did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Morozumi ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
