Carey won 8-7 against Michelle Englot (Winnipeg, MB), then won 6-5 against Eve Belisle (Montreal, QC) and 11-5 against Stacie Curtis (St. Johns, NL). Carey went on to lose 8-4 against Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, NONT). Carey responded with a 11-5 win over Penny Barker (Moose Jaw, SK). Carey won 7-4 against Shannon Kleibrink (Okotoks, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Carey earned 36.741 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
