Chelsea Carey (Calgary, CAN) finished 9-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey lost 7-5 to Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON), then responded with a 6-4 win over Mary Mattatall (Windsor, NS). Carey won 8-7 against Robyn MacPhee (Charlottetown, PEI), then won 6-2 against Marla Mallett (Maple Ridge, BC) and 7-4 against Kerry Galusha (Yellowknife, NT). Carey won 8-7 against Michelle Englot (Winnipeg, MB), then won 6-5 against Eve Belisle (Montreal, QC) and 11-5 against Stacie Curtis (St. Johns, NL). Carey went on to lose 8-4 against Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, NONT). Carey responded with a 11-5 win over Penny Barker (Moose Jaw, SK). Carey won 7-4 against Shannon Kleibrink (Okotoks, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Carey earned 36.741 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. For week 28 of the event schedule, Carey did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Carey ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
