Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) won 7-4 over Jacqueline Harrison (Mississauga, ON) in the Final of the Ontario Scotties, held January 27 - February 5, 2017 in Cobourg, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Homan won 9-3 over Cathy Auld (Dundas, ON) in the semifinals of the 2017 Ontario Scotties in Cobourg, Ontario;
 
Homan finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan defeated Auld 11-4, then went on to lose 6-5 against Harrison. Homan responded with a 8-4 win over Julie Tippin (Woodstock, ON). Homan won 6-5 against Sherry Middaugh (Coldwater, ON), then won 7-5 against Megan Balsdon (Mississauga, ON) and 9-4 against Heather Heggestad (Thornhill, ON). Homan went on to lose 7-4 against Allison Flaxey (Brampton, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Ontario Scotties Championship title, Homan earned 21.735 world rankings points. For week 25 of the event schedule, Homan did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Homan ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
