Podoll won 7-5 against Emily Anderson (Broomall, PA). Podoll went on to lose 7-4 against Jamie Sinclair (Blaine, USA). Podoll responded with a 6-4 win over Ann Podoll (Fargo, ND). Podoll went on to lose 7-2 against Cory Christensen (Blaine, USA) in their final qualifying round match.

Podoll earned 2.009 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 16 spots the World Ranking Standings into 178th place overall with 11.842 total points. Podoll ranks 146th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.457 points earned so far this season.
