Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) lost 9-5 to Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Home Hardware Canada Cup of Curling, held November 30 - December 4, 2016 in Brandon, Manitoba. To advance to the championship game, Homan won 9-4 over Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Home Hardware Canada Cup of Curling in Brandon, Manitoba;

Homan finished 4-2 in the 7-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan defeated Chelsea Carey (Calgary, AB) 6-4, then went on to lose 8-5 against Einarson. Homan responded with a 6-4 win over Tracy Fleury (Sudbury, ON). Homan won 8-7 against Kelsey Rocque (Edmonton, AB), then won 7-3 against Val Sweeting (Edmonton, AB). Homan went on to lose 9-4 against Jones in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Home Hardware Canada Cup of Curling, Homan take home 62.668 world rankings points along with the $17,000CDN prize. For week 16 of the event schedule, Homan did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Homan ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
