Selena Sturmay (Airdrie, AB) lost 7-1 to Janais DeJong (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the AJCT Women's Players' Championship, held March 24 - 26, 2017 in Lacombe, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Sturmay won 7-5 over Kristen Streifel (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals
 
Sturmay finished 3-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Kayla Skrlik (Falher, AB) 6-4, then won 6-5 against Streifel and 5-4 against Jessica Wytrychowski (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
