McMechan lost 6-1 to Jerry Chudley (Brandon, MB) where McMechan responded with a 8-7 win over Curtis McCannell (Pilot Mound , MB). McMechan went on to lose 7-4 against Shane McGranahan (Brandon, MB). McMechan responded with a 5-3 win over Terry McNamee (Brandon, MB). McMechan went on to lose 6-4 against Steve Irwin (Brandon, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
