To advance to the championship game, Brothers won 4-2 over Mary-Anne Arsenault (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2016 Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel in Moncton, New Brunswick; and won 6-2 over Theresa Breen (Halifax, NS) in the quarterfinals.
 
Brothers finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brothers lost 7-3 to Shelly Graham (Fredericton, NB), then responded with a 7-5 win over Shannon Tatlock (Moncton, NB). Brothers won 6-5 against Christie Gamble (Halifax, NS), then won 9-2 against Melanie Ellis (Halifax, NS). Brothers went on to lose 8-7 against MacPhee in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel Championship title, Brothers earned 21.776 world rankings points along with the $1,800CDN first prize cheque, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 51st place overall with 89.159 total points. Brothers ranks 37th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 44.866 points earned so far this season.
