To advance to the championship game, Pfeiffer won 4-3 over Brett Vavrek (Grande Prairie, AB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Grande Prairie Cash Spiel in Grande Prairie, Alberta; and won 6-3 over Warren Cross (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Grande Prairie Cash Spiel in Grande Prairie, Alberta;

Pfeiffer finished 3-0 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pfeiffer defeated Colin Griffith (Grande Prairie, AB) 6-2, then won 7-6 against Graham Powell (Grande Prarie, AB) and 6-4 against Vavrek in their final qualifying round match.
