Armstrong finished 2-1 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Armstrong lost 6-1 to Joel Jordison (Moose Jaw, SK), then responded with a 8-2 win over Scott Bitz (Saskatoon, SK). Armstrong won 5-4 against Daniel Selke (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Heritage Inn SCT Spiel, Armstrong take home 8.309 world rankings points along with the $1,300CDN prize, moving up 190 spots the World Ranking Standings into 247th place overall with 9.391 total points. Armstrong ranks 167th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 8.618 points earned so far this season.
