To advance to the championship game, Vandermade won 5-3 over Jason LaMontagne (Ottawa, ON) in the semifinals of the 2016 NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel in Ottawa, Ontario; and won 7-5 over Jennifer Harvey (Cornwall, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel in Ottawa, Ontario;
 
Vandermade finished 3-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Vandermade lost 7-3 to Eirik Mjoen (Oslo, NOR), then responded with a 6-5 win over Bill Duck (Ottawa, ON). Vandermade won 11-4 against Philip Stang (Ottawa, ON), then won 11-1 against Ed Carroll (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel, Vandermade take home 7.527 world rankings points along with the $1,000CDN prize, moving up 486 spots the World Ranking Standings into 241st place overall with 7.527 total points. Vandermade ranks 81st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 7.527 points earned so far this season.
