Richard Muntain (Pinawa, MB) lost 9-3 to Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Man Curl Tour Classic, held October 7 - 10, 2016 at the Thistle Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Muntain won 4-3 over Daley Peters (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Man Curl Tour Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and won 3-2 over Dennis Bohn (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Man Curl Tour Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;

Muntain finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Muntain defeated Rob Atkins (Winnipeg, MB) 8-7, then won 5-4 against Tian Yu Zhang (Harbin, CHN). Muntain went on to lose 6-2 against David Bohn (Winnipeg, MB). Muntain responded with a 6-5 win over Peters in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Man Curl Tour Classic, Muntain take home 15.911 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN prize, moving up 36 spots the World Ranking Standings into 84th place overall with 42.831 total points. Muntain ranks 44th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 26.599 points earned so far this season.
