Jason Ackerman (Regina, SK) qualified for the 2016 Estevan Curling Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-5 against Carl deConinck Smith (Saskatoon, SK). of the 2016 Estevan Curling Classic in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada;

Ackerman finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ackerman defeated Drew Heidt (Kerrobert, SK) 5-1, then won 5-3 against deConinck Smith. Ackerman went on to lose 6-0 against Bruce Korte (Saskatoon , SK). Ackerman responded with a 8-7 win over Randy Bryden (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Ackerman earned 10.913 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Estevan Curling Classic, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 70th place overall with 80.529 total points. Ackerman ranks 84th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 27.316 points earned so far this season.
