Brown lost 8-5 to Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER) where Brown responded with a 10-7 win over Hannah Fleming (Lockerbie, SCO). Brown won 7-2 against Oona Kauste (Hyvinkaa, FIN), then won 9-8 against Bingyu Wang (HARBIN, CHN) and 7-1 against Anna Kubeskova (Prague, CZE) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Qinghai China Women's International Championship title, Brown earned 14.438 world rankings points along with the $13,331CDN first prize cheque, moving up 18 spots the World Ranking Standings into 73rd place overall with 68.721 total points. Brown ranks 58th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 51.735 points earned so far this season.
