Veronica Smith (Charlottetown, PEI) qualified for the 2016 WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 4-3 against Christie Gamble (Halifax, NS). of the 2016 WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic in Saint John, New Brunswick;

Smith finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith defeated Melissa Adams (Fredericton, NB) 5-3, then went on to lose 6-5 against Heidi Hanlon (Saint John, NB). Smith responded with a 5-1 win over Rebecca Atkinson (Moncton, NB). Smith won 10-8 against Sarah Mallais (Saint John, NB) in their final qualifying round match.

Smith earned 2.340 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic, moving up 13 spots the World Ranking Standings into 154th place overall with 13.149 total points. Smith ranks 123rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 12.101 points earned so far this season.
