Colin Dow (Ottawa, ON) lost 9-3 to Adam Freilich (Jerusalem, ISR) in the Final of the Challenge de Curling de Gatineau Open, held October 14 - 23, 2016 in Buckingham, Quebec. To advance to the championship game, Dow won 9-2 over Stephane Michaud (Trois-Rivieres, QC) in the semifinals of the 2016 Challenge de Curling de Gatineau Open in Buckingham, Quebec; and won 6-4 over Sylvain Bellavance (Buckingham, QC) in the quarterfinals.
 
Dow finished 3-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dow defeated Denis Letendre (Trois-Rivieres, QC) 6-5, then won 7-4 against Michaud. Dow went on to lose 3-2 against Jean-Sebastien Roy (Thurso, QC). Dow responded with a 5-2 win over Kurtis Byrd (Kingston, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Challenge de Curling de Gatineau Open, Dow take home 10.039 world rankings points along with the $1,600CDN prize, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 52nd place overall with 91.648 total points. Dow ranks 38th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 41.565 points earned so far this season.
